Founded in 2016 at The University of Oregon, The Music Industry Collective is a cross-disciplinary group for students to connect with each other, professionals, and opportunities. The group provides the skills, knowledge, and the experiential learning necessary for a career in the music industry.

Through guest speakers, workshops, and more the group hopes to encourage and provide essential resources for passionate students seeking a career within music.

President: Rob Schenk

Rob Schenk is a senior studying journalism, cinema studies and music technology. He works at University of Oregon’s student radio station KWVA Eugene, and is also a professional DJ under the moniker ‘Reggae Rob.’ In his free time, Rob loves cycling, reading and running. He is one of the founding members of the Music Industry Collective and strives to make the club an inclusive, fun community where students can learn practical skills and meet new friends. Some of his favorite artists include Big Youth, Knxwledge, and ORB

VP of Logistics: David Martinez

David Martinez is a junior with a major in both music and advertising. When he’s not helping out with the MIC you can spot him at ducks football games in the marching band. Born and raised in Oregon, David enjoys finding new hiking spots as well as cheering on the ducks. He has been a member of the MIC since its introduction in 2016 and hopes to evolve the group into a diverse community as Vice President of Logistics. Some of his favorite artists are Anderson .Paak, Chance the Rapper, Lorde, Sampha, and Sauti Sol.

VP of Public Relations: Alison Parker

Alison Parker is a double major in Product Design and Italian. Aside from being an officer at the MIC, she’s a DJ at KWVA, and an intern at Hi-Fi Music Hall. Some of her favorite artists include Anderson .Paak, Frank Ocean, Tom Petty, David Bowie, and Mac Dre.

VP of Membership: Jill Sullivan

Jill Sullivan is a junior studying advertising and business. She has experience in music festival planning and is especially interested music marketing and brand strategy. In her free time, Jill likes to play her electric ukulele on volume 11 and listen to bands like Crosby Stills Nash & Young, Paramore, Fidlar, Weezer, and Fleetwood Mac.

VP of Internal Affairs: Cassandra Tolett

Cassandra is a fourth year journalism student with a concentration in advertising. She started in the music industry when she was in high school at her family’s record store and concert venue in Pomona, CA. Since then, Cassandra has interned for Goldenvoice, Sofar Sounds Los Angeles, and Restless Nites doing every odd job imaginable from scrubbing toilets, to copywriting + marketing, to curating and managing a vendor village at Coachella. Her favorite artists are Talking Heads, Arcade Fire, Blood Orange, LCD Soundsystem and Daft Punk.

VP of Finance: Joey Cappelletti

Currently a sophomore, Joey Cappelletti is studying journalism, which is only his 3rd, and hopefully final (but most likely not), declared major. Over the summer, Joey spent much of his time writing profiles on musicians, artists, and other interesting people for a local newspaper that he worked for. When he’s not writing, Joey loves to play sports or explore the outdoor playground that is Oregon. Joey’s favorite artists range from old to new with Led Zeppelin, Jimi Hendrix, Tash Sultana, Billie Eilish and Anderson .Paak currently being his favorites. Joey looks forward to meeting and working with all of the MIC’s returning and new members this year.

Logistics Coordinator : Frankie Kerner

Frankie Kerner is a junior at the University of Oregon, studying journalism with an emphasis in music. She is a General Officer for the Music Industry Collective and a DJ at KWVA, the campus radio station. Frankie likes a lot of different music, but a few of her favorite artists are Frank Ocean, Bob Dylan, and King Krule.

Public Relations Intern: Isa Ramos

Isa Ramos is a sophomore majoring in Journalism with a Multimedia minor. As the Public Relations Intern for Music Industry Collective, she assists with MIC's social media management and making its (really cool) graphics. She is especially passionate about advancing the work of underrepresented voices within every corner of media, from the raddest records to the silver screen. Her current top listens are Donna Summer, Blood Orange, Yaeji, and Sade.
